1. Combine vegan butter, plant-based milk - I use oatmilk - and sugar in a pan and heat the mix up, while stirring, until the butter has melted completely.
2. Transfer the mix into a mixing bowl and whisk in the dry yeast. Cover the bowl and let it sit for 10 minutes.
3. Add salt and white flour to the bowl and mix it will with a spatula. Cover and let it sit for 1 hour.
4. When the mix has doubled in size, add white flour and knead the mix into a fluffy ball.
5. Sprinkle some flour on the work surface and roll the dough into a rectangular shape using a bottle or something else cylinder-shaped.
6. Mix sugar, cinnamon and optionally cardamom into a small bowl.
7. Spread softened vegan butter onto the rectangular shaped dough and sprinkle the spice sugar evenly onto the surface.
8. Roll the dough into a log and cut it in pieces of around 5 cm. Cover and let it sit for another 15 minutes.
9. Pre-heat the oven at 180 degrees C and prepare a baking pan, either lining it with butter or baking paper.
10. Place the rolls into the pan and brush them with some milk.
11. Bake them for around 20 minutes. Check if they're ready after 20 minutes and leave them until the tops are golden brown.
Delicious with a nice oat cappuchino :)
TIP: You can freeze them & re-heat them in the oven another day!
TIP: You can add a creame or icing on top, or some melted chocolate.
